the man believes there is a bag for pretty much anything. carrying stuff around, as well as dandy cats, should be a matter of comfort, style and general good looks, not to mention good craftsmanship and quality materials. since the dandy cat has become a general fan to being drove around, an undertaking he can now enjoy [no more panic here folks, well except for the first couple of minutes till he gets his facts straight], in his case the bag issues concerns mostly travel by train, something he doesn’t yet find comfortable despite all the supplementary attention from female fellow travelers. unfortunately we haven’t yet been able to secure a stylish and comfortable cat carrier for such purposes so if you happen to know one let us know.
getting back to the man, he’s actually trying to put together a shopping list for a new set of bags as the ones he currently owns no longer satisfy him.
no. 1 on the list, the attaché–case
in the particular case of the attaché–case, the man has a long standing favorite he has not yet acquired, so it always seems to pop up on top of any list: the Louis Vuitton Robusto 2 attaché–case in épi leather.

This bag comes in épi leather as previously mentioned [the man’s point of view is that it adds to the charm, this being a very serious and classic bag], with a textile lining. the fittings are all in silver coated metal and you can only carry it by hand [ this is also a style note as far as the man is concerned because this one will never damage a good suit]. inside you have a reinforced A4 size pocket for the important documents [ the reinforcing prevents them getting wrinkled], 2 big compartments for folders and such (also A4), a pen pocket with a zip lock system as well as 2 additional A5 pockets and another A4. no. 2 on the list – the almighty duffel bag
in the particular case of the duffel bag the man also has a favorite, in this case the Dunhill ADV8 Medium Holdall.

the ADV8 Medium Holdall [funny how the name portrays it’s functionality] is the perfect bag for that Steve McQueen laid back look, taking your let’s say Aston Martin DB4 for a weekend by the sea. the ADV8 comes from Alfred Dunhill V8 [ yup, motorsport heritage]. in black cowhide with brushed palladium fittings and a black microfibre lining the bag features a detachable/ adjustable shoulder strap. inside there’s room for everything [holdall remember?] and there also 3 flat pockets and a zip pocket to carry the smaller stuff and that second pair of smooth leather loafers. you also get two front pockets and a world of English style all while keeping with a sober and rather sophisticated look. go check it out, along with other bulldog sanctioned goods, here.

now the man has curious habits come weekend: he likes to pack his dsrl, his notebook, a couple of pens and pencils and sketchbook chargers and accessories and hit the town and cafes to explore and broaden his understanding of the urban environment. and this seems the perfect bag for the job. did i mention it will most likely survive the apocalypse, as it features 100% thick full grain booth leather and pigskin interior? [ go figure pigskin is second to durability to kangaroo skin]. adding to it’s qualities it turns quite quickly into a backpack, it has 100 years of warranty and basically features no parts that can brake or malfunction – all old school as it comes. it also features a double bottom [to keep valuables safe] and a magazine pocket on the back. perfect i tell you, perfect. go check it out here.

this is by far the most unassuming bag of the list. it’s simple and efficient and handmade. needless to say bespoke is an option, but the man would only go with this option. it’s made of Chestnut Bridle Leather with brass rivets and 10ton safe stainless steel hangers [ it feels safe doesn’t it]. the man loves it for it’s simplicity and that whole emotional feel it has to it. it’s perfect for a trip to the lake to just unwind and eat a homemade sandwich while sketching the scenery or laying down some thoughts. it’s perfect! go check it out along with a selection of other handmade beauties here.
